Infinitude and diversity characterize our universe. Man has been zealous seeker of unity in diversity. He has tried every faculty and means to realize this noble end. Theology, mythology, philosophy and science all have been the forms shaped by his craving for unity.

Religion and science have shown themselves to be most pervasive and influential. But what is their relationship? Some see it as one of bitter hostility and ceaseless enmity. This attitude appears negative. To some both have got nothing to do with each other. This indifference seems highly casual.

No doubt their realms are different but both affect each other profoundly. We humans cannot afford to remain indifferent and casual about things that shape our understanding of ourselves and all that surrounds us. We, in our humble way, are part of that portion of humanity that is striving to seek points of convergence between the two. This is, to us, the way of hope– driving force behind every single great human achievement.

Say not the struggle not availeth
The labour and the wounds are vain
And as things have been, they remain.

Surely, hope is more likely to be beneficial than despair
